The Solution for Career Exploration and Workforce Development

Part 1/7: Bringing the community together for workforce development

“CareerPathway.com was built to help students and job seekers find their path to a rewarding career, to help colleges fill classrooms and to help businesses find talent,” says Bo Jones, CEO and Founder of CareerPathway.com. “This partnership with the community leaders of Lincoln is a huge step toward a workforce outcome where everybody wins.”

Having a central location where all community members can interact is critical in career exploration and workforce development. CareerPathway.com is a platform where communities can showcase all of their education and career opportunities in one place which makes it very easy for students and job seekers to see what's available.

Part 2/7: Community Leaders from the public and private sectors take the lead

“Through cultivating a talent pipeline and working closely with our local partners, resources such as CareerPathway.com are crucial to developing a workforce that meets the needs of our community and aligns with the goals of our Vitality Lincoln Strategic Plan,” says Luke Peltz, Vice President for the Lincoln Partnership for Economic Development. “The development of CareerPathway.com is one of many ways in which we can position Lincoln as a place that truly celebrates and champions innovation and economic diversity by involving public and private partners.

A successful outcome in workforce development requires strong participation from the public and private business community and education system. Local leaders need to come together and commit to making it happen.

Part 3/7: Elected Officials Guide their community toward a successful workforce development strategy

“This new partnership brings key workforce development stakeholders together to help build career pathways for job seekers that will grow our economy and cultivate rewarding career success for our workforce,” said Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird, Mayor of Lincoln. “Through both our partnership with LPED and the ARPA funds we directed to this initiative, we have made meaningful investments to advance opportunities for residents and businesses in Lincoln.”

Growing a community is more than just showing what jobs are available. Local leaders can use CareerPathway.com to showcase their communities as fun and vibrant communities helping to retain and attract workforce.

Part 4/7: Businesses hold the key to Workforce Development

“We are excited about the opportunity to get Bison, Inc. in front of more of the current and emerging workforce that might be considering our industry as their profession,” says Nick Cusick, CEO of Bison, Inc. “We have many great positions available that most people don’t even know about. CareerPathway.com is like a continuous job fair but it requires far less effort from our team,” Cusick concludes.

Students and job seekers want to learn from the best and who better than the pros doing it. If job seekers and students don't know what your careers are and what they have to offer you cannot expect them to consider your company as a career option.

Businesses across all industries create their own profile on CareerPathway.com for the purpose of helping job seekers and students understand what their careers have to offer and showcase the specific jobs available within their companies.

Part 5/7: Education system offers students career exploration on CareerPathway.com

"The mission of Lincoln Public Schools is to prepare ALL students for successful careers, lifelong learning, and civic engagement," said LPS Superintendent Paul Gausman. "To help us work towards our mission, CareerPathway.com has collaborated with us to ensure student privacy while connecting our students with local organizations and help them explore possibilities."

The largest impact we can have on the emerging workforce is to prepare high school students for one of the biggest decisions of their lives in selecting a career path. If on graduation day, students have spent enough time exploring careers to know their likes and dislikes, those students will be steps ahead on their path to success.

Part 6/7: Colleges connect with students, job seekers, and local companies on CareerPathway.com

“Post-secondary education remains a critical component of workforce development,” says Dr. Joel Michaelis, Vice President of Instruction at Southeast Community College. “It is perhaps more important than ever before to make sure that at SCC, we are providing options that lead to opportunities in as many careers as possible and this platform will help ensure we are staying connected with students, job seekers and local companies and what they are needing.”

Colleges and Universities play a critical role in preparing students for career success. Helping students identify their interests and then aligning them with the educational programs available is one of the key components of CareerPathway.com.

Part 7/7: Career Guidance Professionals, Mentors, and Organizations

“CareerPathway.com is an important platform to help match job seekers with the employment opportunities they need to thrive,” Dylan Wren, Workforce Administrator for the City of Lincoln and American Job Center of Lancaster and Saunders Counties.

The many incredible organizations that work with individuals to help them find their career now have a tool that gives them insight and to get the conversation started with job seekers and students about their career interests.
